A commitment to excellence
Located in the flagship building
of UAA's East campus, the $30 million Arts facility hosts the departments
of Art, Music, and Theatre and Dance. The Music Department has an
acoustically excellent 220 seat recital hall---some say it is the finest
of its kind in Alaska---with two full size matching Steinway model "D" concert grand pianos
and a tracker organ. Student ensembles include the University Singers,
Sinfonia, Wind Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and the
Jazz Ensemble. Faculty ensembles include Alaska Pro Musica and the
UAA Faculty Jazz Trio. Students may enroll in one of three degree
programs: The Bachelor of Arts in Music, the Bachelor of Music in
Performance, and the Bachelor of Music with Emphasis in Music Education.
