Quotes from Timothy Smith about the tour:

“Audiences were equally enthusiastic and receptive to all of the music. They responded to the rhythmic and driving aspects of the Coray, as well as its interesting harmonic spectrum; they enjoyed the excitement of the Liszt pieces, and they were very interested to hear my interpretation of the Chinese work, “Guangdong folk melody ‘Autumn Moon Over The Calm Lake’” by Chen Peixun.  This work was also very well received.  Even though I spoke very little of their language, there was a definite bond created between performer and audience in each city I visited.  It was a fantastic experience.”

In the master classes, Smith worked with a wide range of abilities, and the students and teachers were very receptive to his advice and guidance. Smith found that the teachers share some of the same concerns about teaching as their counterparts in the U.S.
